Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal is a team that is expected to make a number of changes within the next few months in order to change their current situation in the Premier League as they are located outside of the top 5 spots of the English League.

The future of certain players are unclear and this is the case of Lukas Podolski as he still has not made a Premier League appearance for Arsenal in this season and the German forward has already expressed his frustration on having to settle with a place on the sidelines of the club.

Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who is in charge of Brazilian club Flamengo for a fourth spell, says that he has an agreement with the club’s board to remain in charge of the team even if results do not go as planned over the next few months.

The former Real Madrid and Brazil national team boss is regarded as one of the finest South American coaches. However, he has been unable to get a consistent set of results with Flamengo in his fourth spell. The 62-year-old may have a strong line-up with the likes of Eduardo Da Silva, who has played for Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk in the past, in the starting line-up, but he has been unable to get Flamengo challenging for the title.

Da Silva Back On Form

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva has been in impressive form for his new team Flamengo in the last four matches. The Brazilian club recently brought the striker back to Brazilian football from the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. His arrival to Flamengo comes at a point when the team has been struggling against the threat of relegation after a very poor start to the season. However, the last five matches has brought about a significant change in the fortunes after they have suffered just one defeat and won the remaining four matches.

Eduardo might be making a Premier League return this season as the Queens Park Rangers, who have earned promotion, are believed to have their eyes on him.

The veteran striker who was a part of the Croatian squad in the World Cup is without a contract at the moment. His deal with Shakhtar Donetsk expired when the last season ended and thus, he can be bought without a transfer fee this summer.

Eduardo has spent a few years playing in England in the past. He had been in the Gunners squad for 3 years i.e.
between 2007 and 2010. He played 41 league matches in that duration, but, couldn’t have that much influence.

But, in the last few years, he has become a better player and he can be backed to have much more success if he makes his way back to England.

Silva Happy With Croatian Results

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva has stated that he is extremely happy with the result achieved by the Croatians against Cameroon in the World Cup 2014 group stages. Despite being in a group containing hosts Brazil, Croatia have done well up until this point. They lost in the opening match against Brazil 3-1, but this match was littered with several controversial decisions including a penalty for the hosts. Croatia then came back in stunning fashion to register 4-0 win over Cameroon in the next group match.

Eduardo A Standout Player For Croatia

Croatia’s coach Niko Kovac has announced his provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup which includes: Luka Modric, Mario Mandzukic and Eduardo as some of the standout players of the team.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Eduardo is a Brazilian forward who plays for Croatia after picking up a Croatian citizenship in 2002 and he has expressed his emotions about making his World Cup debut in his native country of Brazil.

“Accepting the invitation to play for Croatia was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. But I never could have imagined that I, as a Brazilian, could be given a chance to play in the World Cup opener. In football, the impossible becomes possible.” Eduardo said.

ZAGREB WIN AGAIN

Dinamo Zagreb secured their 9th consecutive Croatian First League title. The head coach of the club Zoran Mamic stated that he is proud as well as happy about the performances of his players and that the feeling of winning the league on 9 successive occasions is amazing.

“It’s a great feeling to be a champion, and when you do it nine times in a row it’s the greatest feeling for every person in the club. This is the ninth title in a row since I returned to the club as a player. Now, as a coach, I am proud of all my players. I am lucky to have guys who are willing to listen and learn. We will not have a big celebration now; we still have a league match on Saturday and a cup game next Wednesday. We need to be on top form in every match.” Zoran Mamic said.

FERNANDINHO IMPRESSES

The 24 years old Brazilian midfielder of Manchester City, Fernandinho has experience playing in the Ukraine Premier League as he played with the Shakhtar Donetsk jersey back in 2005 until he moved to the English club Manchester City in 2013 and he has revealed that one of the biggest differences of those clubs is the ambition that City has compared to the Ukrainian side.

“The big difference has been the ambitions of the two clubs. City wants to win every competition they enter. It’s the same with my team mates. They’re all internationals, with a wealth of experience in English or European football. My responsibility, at the end of the day, is much the same as it was, control the midfield and organize the team’’.

ANOTHER CHANCE?

Eduardo spent 3 seasons playing in Arsenal but he time in the Premier League saw him taking a huge hit as he had to undergo a surgery after picking up a leg injury that forced him on staying out for the remainder of the season of that year. The Brazilian forward made over 40 appearances for Arsenal and managed to score 7 goals.

He has admitted that he would take the chance of playing for Arsenal once more, if the chance opens up for him.

Ever since completing his recovery from the leg injury, Eduardo has never really managed to get back to his full form which was one of the main reasons on why the Brazilian attacker was eventually offloaded to Shakhtar Donetsk.

STILL LOVING ARSENAL

Eduardo Alves da Silva’s injury he picked up when playing in Arsenal back in February of 2008 left him out of the pitch for 1 year. Arsenal faced off against Birmingham and a late tackle from Martin Taylor ended his season.

The Brazilian made his return to the main team of Arsenal during a match against Cardiff City in the FA Cup and managing to score a penalty kick in the 2nd half but moments later he suffered from yet another injury, this time with a hamstring injury. He was eventually offloaded to the Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Now at his 30 years of age, it would be difficult for him to play at a top tier club and league but the Brazilian forward stated that he would love to make a return to the Premier League and play once more in England.
